About Terra Cotta Warrior

Shaanxi Cuisine, is deprived from the native cooking style of Shaanxi province and parts of northwestern China. Also, due to its geographical location between the province of Shaanxi and Szechuan, the taste of Shaanxi food resulted to sour and spicy. In daily meal, noodles consisted of greater portion than rice. The noodle there are nearly always wider, thicker, and longer. Famous Biang-Biang Noodle, touted as one of the β€œeight strange wonders of Shaanxi β€œ , are described as being like a belt, owing to their thickness and length. When the noodles are thrown on the chopping board, they make a sound of Biang-Biang. The other famous noodle is Qi-Shan noodle soup with sour spicy pork, the highlight is the soup, cheering you up!

Okay, I said I wasn’t going to leave reviews and would just give feedback directly to the restaurant. But I don’t think the server appreciated that. Instead, he completely ignored us and went back to his phone. So… here we are. The food was, OMG, so bad. No flavor at all. The bean sprouts tasted old, and the mustard greens tasted like they were seriously spoiled. The noodles also had no flavor. Even the simple cucumber salad tasted like they just cut up a cucumber and poured vinegar over it. In SF, I can’t imagine how competitive Sichuan food is, so how can this place be this bad? One review mentioned that maybe the head chef wasn’t there, so perhaps the food is just really inconsistent? I just can’t believe how bad it was considering how many good reviews this place has online.

Amazing food, we particularly liked the wontons in hot chili oil and the cumin lam biang-biang noodles. Also great prices for the city, some of the small $9 dishes were almost entree sized. We got 4 dishes (1 entree and 3 small plates) and still came away paying less than $30 per person

This place is located on a main street in a neighborhood. Was able to find parking in front of the restaurant on a Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. As a first-timer, I ordered the spicy sliced beef 5/5 which reminded me of the first time I had this dish at a very well known biang biang restaurant in Xi'an, flavors were spot on and delicious! I also ordered the original Shaanxi style pork burger 3/5. It was a bit bland for me; perhaps I should have gotten the cumin lamb burger, which would have been more authentic. Lastly, the three in one biang biang noodles 5/5! This was recommended by my server and was packed with amazing flavor! Service was great considering the restaurant was completely full. Surprisingly, every dish was very well priced, and portions were generous. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and will be back to try several other dishes!

The food here was very good. Value of the food was reasonable, flavourful and decent pricing. Their cumin lamb is seasoned very well, not too salty like other places. The hot and sour wonton was on point, loved the spiciness and then you get a kick of tanginess/sour. The pigs ear was on point, not too chewy and not too tough, the flavour melded pretty well. The beef noodle soup was very good, thin slice of beef shank/flank, the noodles was perfect and the soup made it well. Friendly staff, however, once you receive your food, the staff doesn’t care about you anymore especially when you need to refill of hot water for your tea. Overall, excellent value for the food.

Super fair prices especially for San Francisco! Had a melody of dishes and all of them were definitely at least above average, most were delicious! The cold noodles and pig’s ears were tasty and I also liked the pork biang noodles. Service was super friendly as well, definitely come and try this hidden gem in the Sunset!
